Our Stories

We are pleased to announce that Miriam C., an 8th grade Brown Deer student, won our club’s annual writing contest for Grade Level 3 in April. This was the first time she chose to participate in the contest.

Her story “Loving the Unloved” was submitted to the GFWC-Wisconsin writing contest where she took first place for her grade level. In June 2026,  Miriam’s story won first place again at the GFWC-International Convention held in Arizona. Her work was up against stories from all 50 states. We are very proud and excited for her. What an accomplishment!

Thanks to club member Monica Baran  for submitting this great story and picture.
