Our Stories 

A new summer project is underway for the GFWC Brown Deer Junior Woman's Club --- another great idea proposed by one of our members. We will be collecting wine corks to help benefit our forests and oceans.  We plan to work with CorkClub & WidgetCo (http://www.corkclub.com) whose goal is to grow wine cork recycling and make donations to causes that protect our oceans and forests. They will donate to forest and ocean conservation for each natural wine cork received.  CorkClub will also recycle the synthetic corks.

In addition to saving our own wine corks, the Brown Deer Juniors have identified a number of local businesses that are willing to save corks for us in support of this effort.  Club members will regularly pick up corks from these locations.  We will ship corks to CorkClub in five- to forty-pound shipments.   That's a lot of wine corks!
