Our Stories 

At the GFWC-Wisconsin state convention, GFWC-Brown Deer Junior Woman's Club member Dorothy Protz received the 2024 GFWC-Wisconsin Junior of the Year award.  The convention was held in Janesville in May 2025.  Brown Deer club members know Dorothy's award is well deserved.

Dorothy has been a club member for over 25 years.  She has held numerous leadership positions and is the past president.  Dorothy does an excellent job engaging the Brown Deer community through her work on the club's public relations activities and its Facebook page.  In addition, Dorothy is also active in leadership with the Lakeshore District as their Recording Secretary and Scholarship Chairperson.

Outside of her leadership roles, Dorothy is always looking for new opportunities for the Club by implementing ideas learned from other clubs through meetings and publications.  She added hands-on volunteering as an additional focus and it has become an important part of the Club's identity.  Dorothy  is always willing to lend a helping hand on a project or to a member.
